The TSR-300 type rail/road locomotive may be equipped with a tamping system with two independent units.


Tamping system:


The tamping system consists of a pair of tamping units with vibrating arms positioned in front of the machine The two tamping units are mounted onto a structure consisting of a rigid frame and a system of telescopic tubular pipes that enables the two units to be lifted and lowered in order to perform the tamping work and to adjust the distance between the tamping units, depending on the gauge of the track to be tamped. Tamping is carried out semi-automatically.
